Welcome to Day 3! Our next giveaway comes from Cynthia King Vegan Ballet Slippers.
Cynthia King Vegan Ballet Slippers give dancers a unique way to show their love for animals in their art by providing high quality, cruelty free ballet slippers.

Ms. King is the director of Cynthia King Dance Studio in Brooklyn, NY. A dancer and choreographer with over 30 years of experience, she has taught and directed dance departments of schools in New York and New Jersey.
“At my studio,” Ms. King says, “I was challenged by my students’ question: ‘Which ballet slippers would you recommend?'”As a vegan, she found there were no good options for ballet slippers. Even canvas slippers use animal skin on the soles. “Providing a viable and affordable alternative to leather-soled slippers became my mission, and after much research (and trial and error) Cynthia King Vegan Ballet Slippers were born! I was finally able to bring my passion for dance and compassion for animals together.”
Cynthia King Vegan Ballet Slippers are the only 100% cruelty free slippers available. Dancers can enjoy the beauty and wonder of dance knowing that no one was harmed in making their slippers. Made of canvas uppers and synthetic full or split soles, they are the compassionate choice for dancers seeking slippers not derived from animal products. They’re durable, dye-able, and easily stand up in quality to leather soled slippers.
Cynthia King Vegan Ballet Slippers have also gotten the attention of Hollywood—vegan star Emily Deschanel ordered a pair for a scene in the TV show “Bones”, and most recently, Vogue magazine requested a pair for Natalie Portman to wear in their January 2011 cover shoot.
Here’s what you can win:
Ms. King would like to give away a pair of vegan ballet slippers to TWO Dance Advantage readers.
Compassion is contagious! By wearing Cynthia King Vegan Ballet Slippers, you’re not only taking a kind step for animals, you’re helping to protect species whose habitats would otherwise be destroyed for livestock production.

“To our winners: Tell a fellow dancer about Cynthia King Vegan Ballet Slippers and help one more person go gracefully green!”

I love the idea of saving animals from suffering. I recently lost my baby of 11 years, my Yorkie, Max. He and I did everything together. He even came to the dance studio on occasion to “dance” across the floor! I miss him terribly, but so glad to have the great memories! You rock for saving animals from such fate – any animal.
I forgot to say in my previous post: this is a great addition to the bunch of FREEBIES you are giving away this week!
I have 5 cats and a dog and it would be really hard to pick a favorite! Each has their very own personality and I think each of them is my favorite in their own way. A freebie like winning a pair of these shoes would be an awesome statement to my dancers that its possible to take one step more than you thought on the road to “green”.
My cat is crazy and that’s just why I love her! These slippers sound so cool to wear! I would deffinitally show them off to friends at dance if I got a pair.
I adore my Dog,because she always loves people and gets excited to do anything!
My favorite animals are my two cats! I am vegan myself, and couldn’t imagine hurting or killing another animal for food or especially for ballet slippers! It’s important to keep our animals of the world safe and thriving!
Fave kittie — my current little charmer. Love these freebies! Animal-free slippers are a great idea.
I’m learning to love pigeons. They’re not my favorite animal friend, but I’m trying to be friendly to them.
My favorite animal, at this time, since I have had so many over the years, is my daughter’s cat. His name is Aiden and he is such a character. He loves to play fetch. If you crumble paper or something crinkly, he runs to you and thinks that you will make it into a ball. If you throw it, he runs after it, picks it up with his mouth, and drops it at your feet, to throw again. We never taught him this, either.
Agh, I am vegan… but haven’t found a vegan flat or pointe shoe I like. This would be a way to try another. My favorite animal friends are all the crazy roosters here on Kauai (the hens and chicks are great too).
This is fantastic! I have a daughter dancing professionally & a son training to care for animals. This fits our ethos perfectly! We have wanted for a long time to find non animal products!
ALL animals are our favourites, from the many pets at home, to the native animals that surround (& sometimes share) our home, to the exotic creatures we have had the privilege to encounter through my sons passion.
An added bonus would be a freebie to try them out!
Thanks Cynthia & Nichelle.
My favorite animal friend is my “nephew” Mr. Bojangles, my sisters pomeranian. He may be small but he’s fiesty and lovable.
my pet bunny is my best friend from the animal kingdom
