If you find yourself or your tiny dancer regularly munching on boxes of processed cheese crackers, (I feel like they are in every lunchbox in America) use this easy recipe to make them yourself.
Don’t let their cookie disguise fool you, they taste just like your beloved boxed crackers. The best part? You control the ingredients and know exactly how much sodium, saturated fat and how many calories you are consuming.
Let me know how they turn out!

Easy to pack, homemade, and delicious enough for your tiny dancer.
“Say Cheese Crackers”
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Yield: About 2 dozen crackers
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1/2 lb grated cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 Tbs water
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 359 degrees.
- Cream together butter and cheese
- Combine flour and salt and then add into the butter and cheese mixture.
- Add water and mix well.
- Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Flatten with the prongs of a fork
- Bake for 10-15 minutes.
Note: If you have a dairy free household, these are great with vegan cheese as well. Spruce up the flavor by experimenting with fresh garlic, oregano, dried herbs and spices.

Is it supposed to be preheat oven to 359 degrees as posted? or 350?
Whoops! A blunder! I don’t have a digital dial so they may very well be baking at 359 degrees. If your oven is more precise, go for 350.
